ELI COMES TO AMERICA, A.K.A
'HANNAH GETS A BIG BROTHER'

Kara and Adam Ayers of Mason, who both have osteogenesis imperfecta – a type of dwarfism, traveled to China to adopt a Eli, who also has a form of dwarfism. International adoption is largely more accessible to parents with disabilities than domestic. On the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Ayers demonstrate that there is still more work to be done. Shot, edited and produced by Carrie Cochran. Premiered March 2015 at Cincinnati ReelAbilities Film Festival. Published online July 2015 to mark the ADA's 25th anniversary.
